Future Perfect
Future Perfect confronts the systemic erasure of non-capitalist and decolonial imaginaries. Moving beyond the inertia of techno-solutionism, the IMPULS Festival establishes the future as a domain of radical potentiality. Through speculative fantasy, we assemble new narratives that center pluralistic perspectives and dismantle the inevitability of current hierarchies, inviting artists and audiences to inhabit a reality defined by possibility rather than constraint.
Project Info
This initiative mobilizes art as a tool for speculative world-building, enabling the active visualization of futures liberated from human-centric and colonial legacies.
Challenge
Dominant cultural narratives actively suppress our capacity to conceptualize existence outside of capitalist and hierarchical systems, limiting political futurism to linear technological progression.
Proposition
We propose the artistic imagination as a vital epistemic framework capable of generating viable alternatives to capitalist and colonial structures. By positioning the future as a malleable site of inquiry rather than a fixed destination, we enable the collective rehearsal of non-hierarchical existences. This approach validates speculative fantasy as a rigorous political methodology, creating tangible space for perspectives historically marginalized by techno-centric narratives. Through this lens, the festival operates as an active generator of social technologies, demonstrating that the capacity to visualize diverse, decentralized futures serves as the necessary prerequisite for their material construction.
