Stayin’ Live
Developed in response to the sudden absence of live cultural experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic, Stayin’ Live emerged as a live-streaming platform dedicated to preserving the immediacy and emotional resonance of performance. It created space for intimate, experimental concerts that redefined liveness at a moment when physical gathering was no longer possible.
Project Info
Stayin’ Live functioned as both a digital stage and an artist support initiative. By providing technical, curatorial, and financial assistance, the platform enabled artists to explore new performance formats tailored to the online environment. Concerts were conceived specifically for the camera, emphasising closeness, vulnerability, and experimentation rather than replicating traditional stage settings.
Challenge
How can the essence of live performance—connection, presence, and shared emotion—be sustained when audiences and artists are physically separated?
Proposition
By embracing the constraints of isolation as creative potential, Stayin’ Live proposed live streaming not as a substitute, but as a distinct artistic format—one capable of fostering intimacy, emotional exchange, and new modes of experimentation beyond the conventional concert hall.
