Hyperfestival

HyperFestival operates as a situated act of commoning, framing the exhibition format itself as a generator of social capital and shared knowledge. In this iteration, the Institute HyperWerk extends its agency directly into the Dreispitz district, where student interventions, diploma works, and performative actions actively weave connections between the academic sphere and the immediate environment. We direct our collective attention toward the ethics of care, interrogating how we structure our responsibilities and relationships. By re-examining everyday rituals and the plurality of communal existence, the festival proposes a multidimensional understanding of sustainability—demonstrating that the "common" is not merely a resource, but a practice grounded in active stewardship.

Project Info

Artistically-led symposium developed with SONIC TOMORROW.

Challenge

ost-industrial design requires testing grounds that simulate real-world complexities. The academic presentation format needs to evolve into a dynamic interface where student projects interact directly with societal frictions rather than existing in a vacuum.

Proposition

Construct the festival as a hybrid platform for process design and societal experimentation. The event functions as a public laboratory, exposing internal research strategies to external critique and engagement. This format validates the student work not as academic exercises but as tangible prototypes for social change, bridging the gap between institutional theory and public practice.
